Greek Fanouropita is known as the cake for lost things. It’s made every year on August 27th to celebrate “the saint for lost things,” St. Fanourios. This moist and aromatic cake is usually small, round, and made with simple ingredients.

INGREDIENTS
70g of raisins
1 tablespoon of Olympian self raising flour
250 g of orange juice + Zest from 1 orange
250 g of sugar
200 g of olive oil
1 tsp cinnamon powder
70 g of raisins + 1 kg of self-raising flour
80 g walnuts (chopped coarsely)
For the pan
olive oil+flour
For the sprinkling
Powdered sugar
Pan Size 26 cm.

METHOD
1. Brush some oil on your pan and sprinkle some flour.
2. In a bowl place the orange juice, sugar, walnuts, orange zest, olive oil into a bowl and mix for 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the cinnamon powder and sift the raising flour.
4. Mix just enough to incorporate the ingredients.
5. In a bowl with raisins, pour 1 tablespoon of flour and stir.
6. Add them to the mixture, stirring for a minute.
7. Pour the mixture into the pan and bake in a preheated oven for 55-60 minutes at 170 c.
8. Once it has cooled slightly, remove from pan and let it cool completely.
9. Decorate it by sprinkling with powdered sugar.
